The YS / SS and ZS Feeder Fingers are precision machined tape guides designed to replace the original guide on Yamaha feeders. The fingers use a plow blade to detach and fold the cover tape out of the way of the pick and place, eliminating the cover tape routing and collection process. The plow blade design allows feeding of cut tape down to 1″ / 25.4mm without attaching a cover tape leader. The operator can load the feeder in less than five seconds without component loss at setup. The Feeder Finger reduces feeder setup and changeover time by 80%. The new release works with both paper and embossed tapes. See specification

The ASM Siplace Feeder Finger is designed to work with the new Siplace Smart Feeder.
The Feeder Finger, coupled with the Siplace Smart Feeder, adds key features and benefits that improve machine utilization and throughput. An unskilled operator can load tape strips as short as 3 inches or a full reel by merely pushing the tape into the feeder and placing it onto the pick and place or feeder cart. A tape leader is no longer required, and the feeder can be loaded in 5 seconds. The AF08 Feeder Finger was designed in conjunction with Juki Automation Systems to work with the AF081E mechanical feeder (blue handle) and the AF05HP & AQ02HP 2mm pitch feeders.
The AF feeder is Juki’s spliceable feeder, installing the Feeder Finger removes the cover tape tension issues associated with this feeder while providing a solution for feeding short strips of paper tape without attaching a cover tape leader. The plow blade design folds and creases the cover tape out of the way of the pick and place and is discarded at the front of the machine with the empty tape.
